Question: How can I modify the TELUS security services settings to improve the start-up of my computer?

Answer: You can delay the loading of certain TELUS security services components at Windows start-up to improve the startup time of your computer. By default system startup is set to Balanced Protection.

To modify the level of protection at Windows startup:

  • Extra Security: TELUS security services scan during the boot process.
  • Balanced Protection: TELUS security services does not provide any protection at boot time, but the system driver records process creation, new file and file overwritten events in boot. After boot completes, the services will start to scan the recorded boot time events.
  • Extra Performance: TELUS security services does not scan during boot time.

Note: If the level of startup protection is change, it will take effect at next Windows startup.
